Dan Lopez❤️Genki

A personal hello to the Genki team

Hi, I’m Dan.
I’d love to build
with Genki.

I’m the founder of funnels.es, a funnel-building agency working across web design and growth marketing. I design and build websites and funnels, from the copy and interface to the code.

For me, web design is part of growing a business: helping people find you, become customers, and stick around.

Your Lead Web Engineer role caught my eye, so I made three explorations for your website to show you how I think.

Made for you

I made three
explorations for you.

Looking at your website, I saw room to make it easier for someone to understand the cover and choose a plan. These are three ways I’d explore that. Open any of them and have a look around.

01 / Warm & practical

Genki
Everyday.

I used friendly language and everyday travel illustrations to walk someone through the practical questions about insurance.

02 / Expressive & editorial

Genki
Daydream.

A more emotional take on life abroad. Hand-drawn illustrations, pastel accents, and a little more room for the reasons people travel in the first place.

03 / Direct & unexpected

Genki
Unfiltered.

A straightforward story with a sense of humour. Surreal travel photos give it personality; coverage examples and member stories make it concrete.

I designed these from the outside, using what I could learn about Genki publicly. They’re starting points. Working with you, I’d want to understand your customers, look at the data, and learn what you’ve already tried before deciding what to change.

A little more about me

I’ve spent my career
building things.

I started my first company in 2009. Since then, I’ve built agencies, worked with startups in Dubai, and helped businesses turn websites into enquiries and booked calls.

I recently built and launched Kyun, a Japanese-learning app, owning the React and TypeScript development, deployment, and testing. I use Codex throughout the build and review the code it produces.

I built it in three weeks with a Japanese teacher who handles the learning content.

Why I want to
work at Genki.

Your Trustpilot reviews were one of the reasons I wanted to apply. They stood out when I was comparing insurers. I want to put my time into a product I’m glad people use, especially when they’re far from home and need help.

Your remote culture appeals to me, too. Being able to travel while working with a team of digital nomads and remote workers sounds like a great fit. I like that the team understands the lifestyle of the people it builds for.

After years of building for clients, I want to work with one team and keep improving the same product. At Genki, I see room to make it easier for people to understand their cover and choose a plan. I’d like to stay involved, learn from the results, and keep working on it beyond the first redesign.

If this feels like a fit

I’d love to hear
what you’re building next.

Thanks for taking a look. If you’d like to talk through the designs, Kyun, or the role, you can reach me here.

I can start in October 2026 and work German business hours.
